Xtra Time Web Desk: The schedule of the Kolkata Knight Riders home match has changed. According to the old fixture , the match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals was supposed to be held at Eden Gardens on April 17th. However, unexpectedly, there are concerns surrounding this match. As it coincides with Ram Navami, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants to change the venue of the match. Although KKR prefers to have the match at Eden Gardens. Given the changed circumstances, the possibility of the night match on the 17th versus Rajasthan Royals being rescheduled to the evening of the 16th seems strong.

Ram Navami will be celebrated across the country on April 17th. Processions for Ram Navami will take place in various parts of the state. The Kolkata Police are concerned about security issues regarding organizing the match on that day. From their perspective, hosting the match on that day seems risky.

However, Eden Gardens is KKR's home ground. The Knight Riders aren't in favor of changing the venue for the match. They prefer to have the match at Eden Gardens rather than any other place in the country.

Therefore, KKR is requesting alternative dates from the BCCI. Another match is scheduled for Mohali on the 18th April  against Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play in Mohali from 7:30 PM onwards. There are also issues with broadcasting two matches on the same day for the broadcasters. Therefore, KKR's match has been rescheduled for the 16th April.
