IPL 2024: Jake Fraser-McGurk equals his record of fastest fifty against Mumbai Indians
Xtra Time Web Desk: Delhi Capitals Jake Fraser-McGurk continued his rich vein of form in the Indian Premier League with yet another rapid half-century. Playing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, 27 April. Fraser-Mcgurk slammed a 15-ball fifty, equalling his record for the fastest half-century of the season.
The young Australian cricketer was in menacing form against MI and took the attack to the pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Luke Wood and Nuwan Thusara, who started off the bowling in the powerplay for the Mumbai side. Fraser-McGurk became only the third player in the history of T20 cricket to complete his fifty in 15 or fewer balls. Apart from Fraser-McGurk, only Andre Russell and Sunil Narine hold the record in T20 cricket.
Jake Fraser-McGurk was in ridiculous touch in the game. After smashing Bumrah and the other pacers, Fraser-McGurk took on Piyush Chawla in the bowler's first over. Fraser-McGurk hit 6 sixes and 11 boundaries in his innings and raced to a 27-ball 84. The batter got out trying to hit Piyush Chawla for a six in the 8th over of the game. He received a standing ovation from the Delhi crowd on his way to the dugout.

Fraser-McGurk has played 6 matches so far in the Indian Premier League and has scored 325 runs. The youngster has batted at a ridiculous strike rate of 238.61 and has scored at an average of 60.25.
But Who is Fraser-McGurk?
The 21-year-old joins the DC squad at his reserve price of Rs 50 lakhs after he went unsold during the auction held in December last year.
He was part of the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 this season and played three matches there.

Fraser-McGurk made his ODI debut for Australia earlier this year against West Indies in February, playing two games at home. In two innings, he scored 51 runs at a strike rate of 221.73.
Although he hasn’t made his T20I debut yet, but Fraser-McGurk has a reputation of a big hitter. Fraser-McGurk holds the world record for the fastest century in a one-day match - 29 balls. Playing for South Australia, he hit 13 sixes and 10 fours during his century in October 2023.
