Xtra Time Web Desk: Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of the KKR team, recently visited Kolkata's renowned Kalighat temple ahead of their upcoming match against Lucknow at Eden Garden Stadium on April 14, Sunday. The KKR franchise shared a video showcasing Gambhir's visit to the temple, where he participated in the rituals and received blessings from the temple priest, including 'Mata ki Chunri' and a garland. The franchise captioned the post with "Jai Maa Kaali."

Earlier on April 11, Thursday, KKR teammates Rinku Singh, Anukul Roy and Venkatesh Iyer, Varun Chakravarthy also visited the temple to seek blessings from the Goddess. The franchise had posted the same video on their social media handle.

The players have been engaging in spiritual rejuvenation amid all the hustle around the league. Recently, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya also visited the famous Somnath temple in Gujarat after MI's slow start in the league. The team were on a brief hiatus after 3 consecutive losses as they headed to Jamnagar. He also hosted a bhajan session and enthusiastically chanted 'hare Rama Hare Krishna' to seek divine intervention. Hardik's holy practice worked like magic as Mumbai went on to win 2 consecutive matches, including an emphatic victory by 7 wickets against RCB.

The LSG team also visited the newly built Ram temple in Ayodhya and have been on a roll ever since. They went onto win 3 consecutive matches on the trot and stand in 3rd spot in the points table with 3 wins in 4 matches.

CSK broke KKR's 3-match winning streak as the Shreyas Iyer-led team lost their first match of the season at Chepauk. However, the team will be back at their fortress in Eden Gardens and will hope to bounce back.
