In a candid conversation during a special episode of Breakfast with Champions featuring Ed Sheeran and Gaurav Kapur on April 12, Rohit hinted at his intention to prolong his playing career for several more years.

Reflecting on India's performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where they reached the final undefeated in the league stage under Rohit's leadership. He expressed his disappointment over the loss to Australia in the finals at Ahmedabad. Despite his stellar batting contribution, tallying 597 runs in the tournament, Rohit remained optimistic about India's prospects, emphasizing the significance of clinching the prestigious title.

Speaking about the heartbreak of the World Cup final defeat, Rohit acknowledged that while India didn't play poorly, Australia managed to edge them out with a slightly better performance. He highlighted the importance of the 50-over World Cup, especially when hosted in India, and reiterated his belief in the team's capabilities, despite the setback.

Not only the 2023 ODI World Cup, India also lost to Australia again in the World Test Championship by 209 runs, which took place months before the ODI World Cup.
