IPL 2024: Bumrah silences the Wankhede crowd, dismisses Virat for the 5th time

RCB supporters were particularly hopeful for another stellar performance from their former captain, given Kohli's exceptional form in the ongoing IPL 2024.
However, Kohli faced significant challenges as he stepped onto the field to open the innings alongside skipper Faf du Plessis. Struggling to find his rhythm, Kohli managed only five dot balls during his brief nine-ball stint at the crease before falling victim to Bumrah's bowling prowess, departing with a mere three runs to his name.

As Kohli made his way onto the field to open the batting against Mumbai, chants of his name reverberated throughout the arena. However, little did the crowd knew, the former RCB skipper was on the brink of experiencing an unexpected setback in IPL 2024.
Bumrah, the pace spearhead of MI, electrified the atmosphere at the Wankhede Stadium by claiming by breaking RCB’s backbone Virat Kohli, who managed only a single-digit score in the showdown. Demonstrating his mastery, the right-arm speedster struck in his very first over, inducing Kohli to edge the ball behind the stumps, where Ishan Kishan executed a swift catch, diving to his left.

Bumrah vs Kohli in IPL:
This was the fifth instance when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Virat Kohli in an IPL face-off. The rivalry dates back to 2013 when the former made his debut in Bengaluru and had trapped the former RCB captain in his very first over to bag his maiden wicket in the cash-rich tournament.
So far, Kohli has scored 140 runs against Bumrah in 95 balls, striking at a rate of 147.36.
