Sunrisers Hyderabad eclipsed their own record for the highest team total in IPL history, setting a formidable benchmark of 287 runs, surpassing their previous best of 277. In response, RCB displayed resilience, posting 262 runs on the scoreboard, propelled by Dinesh Karthik's blistering 35-ball 83.

The match, characterized by its run-filled frenzy, witnessed a flurry of records tumbling as both sides showcased their batting prowess in spectacular fashion. While the batsmen stole the limelight, the night also left an indelible mark on the bowlers, albeit not for the desired reasons.

List of records broken in RCB vs SRH IPL 2024 match:

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted the highest total in IPL history, improving on their own total of 277/3 they had posted against Mumbai Indians a few weeks ago.

2. RCB and SRH aggregated a total of 549 runs in the match, which is the highest in T20 cricket history. The previous best was 523 runs between Sunrisers and Mumbai Indians.

3. SRH batters struck 22 sixes in the match, which is the most by any team in an IPL innings. The record was earlier held by RCB for their 21 sixes against Pune Warriors in 2013.

4. SRH and RCB batters hit 38 sixes cumulatively in the match, the joint-most in any T20 match, equalling the tally of sixes recorded during Hyderabad and Mumbai earlier this season.

5. SRH and RCB batters struck a total 81 boundaries in the match cumulatively, also the joint-most for a T20 match. The same tally was earlier achieved during a match between South Africa and West Indies in 2023.

6. RCB's 262/7 is the highest total in a losing cause in T20 cricket. The previous best was West Indies' 258/5 against South Africa in 2023.

7. SRH became the first team in IPL history to have two 250-plus totals in the league. RCB then joined them later in the match.

8. It's the first time that 4 bowlers of the same team went for 50-plus runs in their overs. RCB's Reece Topley (68), Yash Dayal (51), Lockie Ferguson (52) and Vijaykumar Vyshak (64) all conceded more than 50 runs against SRH.

9. In the match there were seven fifty-plus partnerships put together by the two teams. This has never happened in a T20 match before.
