India at Tokyo Olympics: Sutirtha Mukherjee knocked out by Portugal’s Yu Fu in Rd 2 of TT women’s singles

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian table tennis player Sutirtha Mukherjee was knocked out by Portugal’s Yu Fu in round 2 of the women’s singles at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday. Sutirtha was totally outplayed by her fancied opponent 3-11, 3-11, 5-11, 5-11 to end campaign in her maiden Olympics.
The 25 year old Sutirtha raised hopes by winning her first round match against a higher ranked Swedish opponent Linda Bergstrom 4-3. She came back to win the match after trailing 1-3. But the table tennis player from Bengal looked totally off colour against Yu Fu, failing to put up any fight.
