India at Tokyo Olympics: Neeraj Chopra storms into men’s javelin final with a throw of 86.65m

Xtra Time Web Desk: India’s biggest hope in men’s javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics Neeraj Chopra stormed into the final with a monstrous throw of 86.65m in his first attempt on Wednesday. Neeraj finished on top of Group A and qualified for the final. Germany’s Johannes Vetter, who’s the favorite for a gold medal, also earned direct qualification by registering a distance of 85.64m on his third try.
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem also gained direct qualification after throwing 85.16m in his 2nd attempt. However India’s Shivpal Singh disappointed in Group B of the qualification spherical. His best throw in three attempts was 78.20m
