Xtra Time Web Desk: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has formally requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reschedule their upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Kerala, set for October 26, due to the looming threat of Cyclone Dana over West Bengal. Led by Anustup Majumder, the Bengal team faces uncertainty regarding their participation in this critical group-stage encounter as the cyclone approaches the region.

In addition to the senior team’s match, CAB has appealed to BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah for the postponement of the Under-23 team’s game against Railways, scheduled for October 27 in Kalyani. These precautionary steps are being taken as Bengal braces for the cyclone’s potential impact.

Bengal’s recent matches have already been affected by poor weather. Their previous clash against Bihar on October 18 was abandoned without a ball being bowled, while the match against Uttar Pradesh on October 11 ended in a draw. These results have added pressure on the upcoming fixture against Kerala, which now holds even greater significance for Bengal’s position in the tournament. However, the cyclone may disrupt their chances yet again.

With weather playing a crucial role in Bengal’s campaign so far, the CAB is hopeful that the BCCI will consider the situation and provide a favorable solution. For Bengal, the Kerala match is pivotal, and another washout could hinder their progress further. Fans and players alike are now anxiously awaiting the decision, hoping for a reschedule rather than a missed opportunity.
