Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has once again expressed his deep affection for Test cricket, calling it his favorite format. Despite being a key player across all formats, Bumrah has particularly shined in the longest form of the game. With 33 wickets in just seven matches at an impressive average of 15.27, the pacer has been a crucial figure for India in Test matches. The ongoing series against Bangladesh has seen him add six wickets to his tally so far.

In a pre-Day 4 interview during the Kanpur Test, Bumrah shared his excitement about getting back into Test rhythm, especially after dealing with injuries in recent years. He emphasized how much he values playing Tests and mentioned his anticipation of the upcoming tour of Australia, where he expects to bowl more overs and play a pivotal role.

"For me, my favourite format is the Test format. I've said it before as well that I wanted to play this format and I'm doing that now. Good to get some overs under the belt and build up those overs. Number of overs we bowl in Australia will be a lot more," Bumrah told the broadcasters.

With rain disrupting Day 2 and Day 3 in Kanpur, Bumrah highlighted the importance of adapting quickly to conditions and sharing tactical information with teammates. On Day 4, he provided India with a crucial early breakthrough by dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim.

As India aims for victory and pushes for a spot in the World Test Championship final, Bumrah’s presence remains invaluable.
