BGT 2024-25: Rohit Sharma to be dropped from Sydney Test? Here's what Gautam Gambhir has to say
Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma has been under scanner for his not upto the mark performances and his ordinary captaincy in Border Gavaskar Trophy so far. Many former India cricketers have shared their opinions and urged to drop Rohit Sharma from playing XI in Sydney Test.
Rohit has managed only 31 runs in three Tests batting in middle order then coming back to opening slot as well and his decisions on field are also casual which often hit India back so keeping all these in mind, Rohit's participation is doubtful.
A journalist in the press conference questioned Gambhir, asking why the captain had not attended the press conference on the eve of the Test, highlighting if it is a tradition in Test cricket. In reply, Gambhir stated "Everything is fine with Rohit. I don't think it's a tradition. The head coach is here. That should be fine, that should be good enough. I am going to have a look at the wicket and finalise it tomorrow."

However, when questioned about plans for Rohit's participation in press conference ahead of the Sydney Test, India Coach Gautam Gambhir remained tight lipped. As he stated that the team had yet to finalise their playing XI and would make the decision tomorrow after assessing the pitch.
He stated, "As I just said, we are going to have a look at the wicket and announce the playing XI tomorrow." When pressed further, Gambhir added: "The answer is the same."
