Xtra Time Web Desk: India head coach Gautam Gambhir once again remained tight lipped when asked about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's future!

Addressing the press after India’s six-wicket loss in the Sydney Test, Gambhir claimed he is confident that the two senior batters would make decisions that are in the best interests of the Indian team.

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma looked out of touch. It was expected from both to deliver in such an important series but nothing changed. Virat Kohli scored 190 runs across five Tests at an average of 23.75 having a century in Perth Test. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma scored only 31 runs in three Tests, appearing out of sorts before missing the Sydney Test. Hence a section of experts suggest BCCI to move on.

“I can’t talk about the future of any player,” Gambhir said in Sydney on Sunday.

“It’s up to them. But, yes, what I can say is they still have the hunger, they still have the passion. They are tough people. I hope they will do everything they can to take Indian cricket forward. But, like I said, whatever they do, they will plan for the best interests of Indian cricket,” he added.

Indeed all eyes will be on them what decision they take and how they execute.
