Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India delivered a stellar batting performance in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, securing a seven-wicket win despite two successive washouts on Days 2 and 3 that cast doubts on the match's outcome. With only 35 overs of play across the first three days, the prospects of a result seemed bleak. However, India's aggressive batting turned the tide as they scored 285 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in just 34.4 overs, establishing a crucial 52-run lead.

Following this, India bowled Bangladesh out for a mere 146 runs, clinching a dominant victory. The team's bold approach and the management's decision to chase a result, despite the limited time remaining, garnered praise from fans and experts alike. Former Australia wicketkeeper-batter Brad Haddin expressed admiration for India's performance, commending Rohit Sharma and his team.

“They gave themselves a chance to win the game. It wasn't about how many runs they scored; it was about finding enough time to bowl Bangladesh out. They played a great brand of cricket, but it was all about giving them enough time. My hat goes off to the support staff, Rohit Sharma... he has always been this sort of captain: Win first,” Haddin remarked on the LiSTNR podcast.

He further praised the team's mindset, noting, “I love the style of cricket. They could've had a net session and gone for a draw; no one would have said a thing. The mindset of Rohit Sharma to find a way to manipulate a result... teams are scared to go 10 runs per over in T20 cricket! So, I take my hat off to India.”

When asked if India could replicate this performance in Australia during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Haddin expressed optimism. “I actually do. Because if you look at this result, the worst outcome for India would've been a draw. There was no way India would've lost it. Rohit had nothing to lose. How good was it to watch! It's a wonderful way to win Test cricket,” he stated.

India is now aiming for a hat-trick of Test series victories in Australia, having won the last two series down under 2-1.
