Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian golfing sensation Aditi Ashok has qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024, which will commence on July 4. Aditi, who finished a remarkable fourth at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, secured her spot through the world rankings, reaffirming her position as one of India's top golfers.

Joining Aditi is fellow Indian golfer Diksha Dagar. Both Aditi and Diksha clinched their qualifications on Monday, marking a significant achievement in their careers. They will be part of a four-member Indian golf team that includes Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar in the men's section. The Paris Olympics is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.

This will be Aditi's third Olympic appearance, the most by any Indian golfer, while Diksha will be competing in her second Olympics. For Sharma and Bhullar, Paris 2024 will be their debut on the Olympic stage. Aditi's stellar performance in Tokyo remains India's best Olympic golf result to date.

Olympic qualification is determined by the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), with the top 15 players gaining automatic entry and up to two eligible players per country beyond that threshold. Aditi, currently ranked 24th, and Diksha, ranked 40th, have successfully earned their places based on these criteria.

Diksha Dagar stands out not only for her qualification but also for her unique achievements. She is the only golfer to have competed in both the Olympics and the Deaflympics, where she has won two medals. Additionally, Diksha is the second Indian woman to triumph on the Ladies European Tour (LET) after Aditi, and she holds the record as the youngest to win at just 18 years old.

With such a strong lineup, India looks forward to a promising performance in golf at the Paris Olympics 2024.
