XtraTime Web Desk: A late penalty strike from Sergio Ramos gave Real Madrid a 1-0 win over Getafe in La Liga at the Estadio Aldredo Di Stefano on Thursday night. The win took Real Madrid to 74 points from 33 matches, four points clear of Barcelona who is on 70 points. It was the sixth consecutive win for Zinedine Zidane’s boys since the La Liga restart.
It was a hard earned victory for the Los Blancos against a tough Getafe side. The deadlock was broken when the home side was rewarded a penalty in the 78th minute after Dani Carvajal was brought down inside the box. Real captain Sergio Ramos made no mistake from the spot kick to give his side the all important lead. Madrid, who have not won the La Liga title since 2017, have now recorded 17 clean sheets in league this season, their most in a single campaign over 1994-95. With another five rounds remaining in the league, it is clear advantage for Real Madrid.
