Kohli touches another rare record with a match-winning ton

XtraTime Web Desk: Virat Kohli’s ton helped men in blue to level the series against Australia. Kohli scored 104 runs as India successfully chased 298 runs by losing just 4 wickets in the second one-day international at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

Kohli’s 104 (112 balls) was his fifth on the Australian soil and he is now tied with Sri Lanka legend Kumara Sangakkara and fellow countryman Rohit Sharma for the most hundreds by a visiting batsman Down Under.

Sharma achieved the feat with his 131-run knock in the first ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 12 January.

Kohli also becomes the fastest to achieve it as he reached the feat in just 25 ODI games in Australia  Sharma took 28 ODIs for his record, while Sangakkara had his five tons in 49 games.

After losing the wicket of Kohli Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik guided the visitors to the victory. Dhoni scored 55 runs and Karthik added 25 runs to the total.

The third match of the series will be played at the MCG on 18 January.
