Kohli, Bumrah likely to be rested for ODI, T20I series against West Indies

Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be rested for the three-match ODI & T20I series against West Indies starting August 03. The India team is due to travel to the Caribbean later next month where they will play three T20I matches followed by 3 ODI’s and two test matches. The first two matches of the T20I series will be played at Fort Lauderdale in Florida on August 3 & 4 respectively. The third T20I will be played at Guyana on August 6.

The ODI series will start at the same venue on August 08 followed by the next two ODI’s at the Queens Park Oval in Trinidad. The first test match will be played at Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua while the final test match of the series will be played at the Sabina Park in Jamaica.

Kohli and Bumrah will however be back for the two-Test series which is a part of the inaugural World Test Championship.

There could be a few others too who will be given rest during the series which follows the hectic World Cup campaign. It is expected that Kohli and Bumrah will join the squad before the three-day practice game in Antigua from August 17-19.

It is learnt players like Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari who will be playing for India A in the Caribbean will join the senior team ahead of the test series.
