KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah on road to recovery

Xtra Time Web Desk: KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah are all undergoing rehab and are expected to return to action soon. The trio have been inching closer to full fitness. All three underwent surgery and are currently rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

While Rahul is expected to return for the tour to West Indies, Bumrah and Shreyas are eyeing a comeback in Asia Cup 2023 which begins from August 31.

Bumrah has not played since the home T20Is against Australia last September. He underwent back surgery in Christchurch in March. The pacer is mainly doing physiotherapy but has recently started light bowling workloads as well.

Shreyas was troubled by a bulging disc in his lower back. He had to skip playing the final test against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy at home in March. He flew to London in May to get himself operated and is now undergoing physiotherapy. Both Iyer and Bumrah has reported to the NCA.  

Pant is showing great response during rehab as he has already started walking without support. He recently shared a video of him climbing the stairs at NCA. The medical staffs at NCA are working on

building his lower body strength and mobility.

The wicketkeeper batter is also undergoing aqua therapy, light swimming, and table tennis. He is also taking sessions for age group cricketers on camp at the NCA. The sessions have been organized by VVS Laxman to help the 25-year-old boost morale and break monotony.
