Juventus releases new eco-friendly kit

XtraTime Web Desk: Juventus have been making huge waves in the transfer market this summer following the stunning capture of Cristiano Ronaldo for £100million.

And the Italian champions are now doing their bit to rid the Earth’s oceans of plastic after releasing their new third kit ahead of next season.

The Turin-based club’s kit manufacturer, adidas, have teamed up with Parley for the Ocean to create a football kit made from ocean plastic and 100 per cent recycled polyester, which combines ‘modernity in look with cutting-edge technology’.

The kit itself is grey and has yellow trim and is described as ‘far more than something simply worn on the pitch’.

‘The new Juve third kit has eco-innovation and longevity at its very heart,’ said adidas Designer Francesca Venturini told the club’s official website.

‘Through our partnership with Parley for the Oceans we’ve been able to create this beautiful jersey made from Ocean Plastic. The dark grey shade with yellow accents makes it the perfect jersey to be worn either on pitch or on the streets.’

The replica Juventus shirt will set buyers back €89.95 (£80) while the kid’s shirt will cost €69.95 (£62).

Adult-sized shorts are priced at €39.95 (£35) while kids’ sizes are only slightly cheaper at €34.95 (£31) with socks costing €17.95 (£16).

Manchester United are another club who will be sporting the Parley innovation after they released their third kit made from ocean plastics back in May.
