Xtra Time Web Desk : Juventus legend, Gianluigi Buffon has made some harsh remarks about Cristiano Ronaldo saying Juventus lost their DNA after the Portuguese arrival. Ronaldo joined the Italian giants back in 2018 as he left Real Madrid after winning his fifth Champions League title.

The Serie A giants roped in the football star as they dreamed of lifting the Champions League trophy which was shattered by Ronaldo himself as Madrid defeated Juventus in the 2017 final. However, the dream of the Old Lady was not fulfilled as in the three seasons in which Ronaldo played for them their best finish was quarter-final.

It seemed like Ronaldo tried his best to lift the Champions League title with Juventus but Gianluigi Buffon has some other statements as he spent two years with the Portuguese. The Italian goalkeeper arrived at Juventus in 2019 from Paris Saint Germain as he left the Old Lady in 2019.

Speaking about Ronaldo’s impact upon Juventus Buffon said, “Juventus had the chance to win the Champions League the first year he arrived, which was the year I was at Paris St Germain, and I couldn’t figure out what happened.”

“When I returned, I worked with Ronaldo for two years and we did well together, but I think Juventus lost that DNA of being a team.
“We reached the Champions League final in 2017 because we were a side full of experience, but above all we were a single unit and there was this competition for places within the group that was very strong. We lost that with Ronaldo.”

Cristiano Ronaldo currently playing for the Red Devils hopes to add his sixth Champions League title, while Manchester United have progressed into the round-of-16 and will be locking horn against Atletico Madrid.
In the meantime, Gianluigi Buffon has returned back to his first ever club AC Parma at starting of this season and is currently playing in the Serie B.
