Justin Langer supports Virat Kohli’s decision of Paternity leave and calls him the best player he has seen

XtraTime Web Desk – The captain of Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli is not only setting records on field but also breaking stereotypes off the field. The Indian captain was granted a paternity leave by BCCI after India’s first test match at Adelaide.

Australian cricket team’s head coach Justin Langer absolutely supported this decision of Virat and said in a virtual press conference, “He’s a human being like all of us… if I was giving advice to any of my players I would always say never, ever miss the birth of your children because it is one of the great things you’ll ever do”.

India will play 3 of test matches without their captain who always performs in Australia. His dominating attitude in Australia is something India needed the most in the southern summer. Spanking of Virat’s absence, Justin Langer said, “Of course, it (Kohli’s absence) will have an impact, but we also know that India beat us last time (in 2018-19). They’re a very, very good team, we cannot get complacent for a second with or without Virat”.

The coach of Australian cricket team also acknowledged Virat to be one of the best batsman he has ever seen. He said, “Virat Kohli is probably the best player I’ve ever seen in my life for so many reasons, not only batting but his energy and passion for the game, the way he fields”.

He added, “I cannot believe he displays the energy he does, in everything he does and I’ve got so much respect for him. I’ve also got respect for him in the sense that he’s made this decision (to return to India for the birth of his child)”.

He also spoke about Pink Ball test and reckon Aussies will have a slight advantage. He warned the Indians that the trio of Starc, Hazzlewood and Cummins are now two years more experienced from the last series they lost.

Indian players are now in their mandatory 14 day quarantine period and will start their practice after the quarantine.
