Justin Langer feels that it’s a good opportunity for others to step up as David Warner is injured

XtraTime Web Desk – David Warner is out injured and is therefore won’t be able to play in the first test at Adelaide. Justin Langer, the Australian coach feels that it is a great opportunity for List A cricketers to step up and fill in the boots.

However, after clinching the ODI series with back to back wins, Langer isn’t concerned about the test squad. He said, “No wonder I’m a bit more relaxed. We’ve won a few games and I don’t have to worry about who we are going to pick for the text squad”.

Justin though talks about the importance of their list A cricketers playing well. He thinks it’s a great opportunity for them to showcase their talent and that can eventually give them a ticket to the senior team. “I’ve said it so many times, the hardest part of the job is selecting the teams, but we have an Australia A game starting in a few days and it’ll be a good opportunity for those guys”.

About their opening combination for the first test match, Langer said, “We’ll work out who’s going to play in that game and certainly there’s a huge opportunity for people to put their hands up”.

Justin Langer admits that it’s a big loss for Australian team and they will miss David Warner in the first test. However, there’s also a possibility of Warner not playing the second test as well. According to few reports, Warner needs 4 weeks at least to recover from the groin injury. If so, the left handed dynamic batsman is going to miss the second test as well.
