Jasprit Bumrah unlikely to take part in Border Gavaskar Trophy | INDvsAUS

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to be part of ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. The fast bowler will not be rushed in the ongoing test series as it can aggravate his recurring back problem. Bumrah is not part of the first two matches of the test series and is now likely to miss the last two tests as well.

According to reports, the fast bowler will not be risked playing in the test series against the Aussies, keeping in mind the World Test Championship final and World Cup in October-November.

The 28 year old pacer is unlikely to join the squad for the final two test matches in the series. Bumrah is currently undergoing his rehab at the National Cricket Academy. He has been out of action for the last 6 months due to a persistent back injury.

The premier fast bowler has started bowling at the NCA recently and looks to be in the reckoning for a return in ODI series against the Aussies. But he will have to pass a fitness test for him to be available for selection.

The three match ODI series against Australia begins on March 17 at Wankhede stadium.
