Jasprit Bumrah to miss ODI series against Sri Lanka

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah will miss the upcoming three match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting from Tuesday at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. Bumrah has not travelled to Guwahati with the Indian team.

Bumrah was added to the ODI squad after he was declared fit by National Cricket Academy (NCA). But the latest development will see him missing the series against Sri Lanka.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka,” the BCCI had said in a media release dated January 3.

The release also added, “The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon.”

But according to reports Bumrah will not be seen in action during the three match ODI series against Sri Lanka as BCCI do not want to rush him ahead of the all-important test series against Australia at home.

BCCI is yet to make a formal announcement about Bumrah’s unavailability for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. According to reports, Bumrah might feature in the upcoming series against New Zealand The Men in Blue will play three ODIs and as many T20I in that order from January 18.
