Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a huge setback for Mumbai Indians and India, Jasprit Bumrah’s return to cricket is not happening anytime soon. According to reports, Bumrah’s injury appears to be more serious than expected and it will take longer for him to fully recover. There is a possibility that premier fast bowler will not only miss the upcoming IPL 2023 season but also runs the risk of missing the World Test Championship final in England in June.

Bumrah last played for India in the T20I match against Australia in Nagpur last year on September 25. Since then, he has been out of action. It was expected that he will be cleared by NCA medical staff to play in the ODI series against Australia but as per the latest development he will take longer time to recover. Neither the BCCI nor the NCA is willing to rush him into action.

According to reports, the target for the Indian team is to get him ready for the 50 overs World Cup to be held in India in October-November, if not necessarily for the Asia Cup, wherever it is held.
