James Anderson hoping to partner Stuart Broad in series decider against West Indies

XtraTime Web Desk: Senior England pacer James Anderson on Wednesday said he is hoping to play alongside his longtime bowling partner Stuart Broad in the deciding test match of the series against West Indies at Old Trafford starting from Friday. The local boy missed the second test in his home ground as he was rested. While Broad missed the first test match of the series as he was dropped. The England team management will be in for a tough choice to decide their pace attack for the series decider with the likes of Anderson, Mark Wood and Jofra Archer looking to return to the playing XI.

“I presume the best three players will play but it’s going to be a difficult decision for Joe and Chris and there will be some disappointed guys,” Anderson told at a virtual press conference at Old Trafford.

It has been a normal sight in test cricket over the last decade to see the pair of Anderson and Broad sharing the new ball for England. The veteran fast bowler who has his sights set on Ashes next year is hoping to partner his longtime new ball partner.

“Our record together speaks for itself and I’d really like to think that if we are both fit and England are picking their best bowling attack then we’d both be in that,” he said.

“It’s a good position to be in because it shows we have strength in depth,” added Anderson.
