Ivory Coast footballers still in dark about their future

Internet Desk: The group of Ivory Coast footballers who came down to India with an ambition to try their luck in football clubs here are still in dark about their future. The footballers from Stella club are now in Kalyani and do not know what lies in store for the future.

Once the news about the African footballers got published on www.xtratime.in , the concerned authorities have started to take a note of the situation. In a meeting held between the Kalyani municipal corporation authorities, representative of the footballers and the sports management company on Monday, it was decided to provide them with an accommodation until they are flying back home. The footballers were told to find clubs till the time they have valid visa to stay in this country.

 According to Nilimesh Roy Chowdhury, the chairman of Kalyani municipality, “A sports management company brought them to Kalyani for hosting three friendly matches. They booked the Kalyani stadium for three days for playing matches as well practice session. But we only came to know about the situation from various news medium. We organized for their stay here as the hotel in which they were staying ordered them to leave.”

Meanwhile the manager of the team left for Ivory Coast. The footballers were told to try their luck in various clubs till the time their return tickets are booked.

MAPS Future Sports in Kolkata organized three friendly matches for Stella Club. They played matches against Bhawanipur club, Rainbow club and United Sports club in a gap of six days.
