XtraTime Web Desk – The off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had quite a day as he took 3 crucial wickets in the second day of the Adelaide test. Just when Australia could have taken the game into next level, Ravi Ashwin got the crucial wicket of Steve Smith and gave Indians a huge boost going into the game.

Speaking about Steve Smith’s wicket, Ashwin said, “Obviously, it was a huge wicket. At the context of the match where it was placed, I think it was a very important wicket. I was very happy and enjoyed it”.

Ravichandran Ashwin then silenced his critics and said in all his recent outings in abroad, he had fairly decent performance and he shouldn’t be criticised for it. “I pretty much had decent outings every time I went to play in abroad. Things at times can blown out of context, i put those things in the shelf and keep it in the backyard. As far as I am concerned, I really want to enjoy and my game and I really want to have all the fun I possibly can . I really don’t want to sit back and think (his best spell in overseas) whether that was not. There is an innings to go and am looking forward to do in entire test series”.

Ravi Chandran Ashwin then talked about Indian team’s decision on sending Jasprit Bumrah as a night watchman. “Jasprit is a really competitive cricketer. He likes to take a battle on and his command in test cricket specially bowling in depth is for everyone to see. He has improved in his batting. He has changed moves and all that and now he actually made a 50 and he looks at home when he is defending also. So, it was a no brainer as far as team was concerned and I thought in that little phase that he batted, he showed a lot of confidence”.
