XtraTime Web Desk – Indian skipper Virat Kohli in a recent interview to the Royal Challengers Bangalore digital team said that the “repetitive” nature of the bio bubble will be tough on all the players going forward.

All the players are already living in a bio bubble since August because of the IPL. When IPL will get over, the Indian players will be moving to Australia and will be part of another bubble until the series ends in January. Virat feels that this might affect players mentally as players follow the same routine and doesn’t have anything to do different.

“These things will have to be considered. Like what length of the tournament or series one is going to play and what impact it will have on players mentally to stay in a similar environment for 80 days and not do anything different”.

The skipper Virat Kohli is however happy with the company he currently has in the RCB camp. “Everyone part of that bio-bubble is really nice, the vibe has been so good. That’s precisely why we’ve enjoyed playing together, just enjoyed our time in the bubble as well”. However, he added, “But it does get difficult at times because it is repetitive”.

The skipper also told about the things he thinks should be in the mind of the decision makers before any tournament. “(The players needs to) have space to just go and see family or small things like that. These things have to be thought about seriously. At the end of the day, you want the players to be in the best state mentally, based on how they’re feeling. Those conversations should take place regularly.”

No decision has been taken by BCCI as of now. After playing 3 ODIs, 3 T20I and 4 tests, the Indian Cricket team will fly to England for another lengthy series.

Few International players like Steve Smith, David Warner, Sam Curran and Jofra Archer are already tired of bio bubble. Steve Smith and David Warner also opted out from playing Big Bash this season. As the new season for team India will start right after the the IPL, some decisions needs to made immediately to keep all the players fresh and mentally ready.
