Gurjinder Kumar is all set to join NEUFC.

XtraTime Web Desk: Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan’s star full-back Gurjinder Kumar is likely to join Indian Super League outfit NorthEast United FC in the upcoming season which would really strengthen the side. Kumar, who played for the Green & Maroon Brigade for last three seasons is leaving the new entity of Mohun Bagan-ATK & will play for the Highlanders.

In the last season he played a key role to help Kibu Vicuna’s side to win their second I-League title as he represent the Green & Maroon Brigade in 8 important matches.

Born into a family of footballers, Gurjinder started his footballing journey with Chandigarh Football Academy before being drafted into the prestigious TATA Football Academy. The talented left back made a name for himself while playing for Pune FC. His performances with the Red Lizards earned him a national team call up in 2012 against Azerbeijan. He was also part of the 2012 Nehru Cup winning Indian side. Gurjinder also played a crucial role in the 2012-13 I-League and helped Pune FC finish second. He moved to Salgaocar in 2014-15 and has been a regular starter for the Goan outfit.

On the other hand, NorthEast United ended their last season of ISL on number 9. They had collected 14 points in 18 matches. With the addition of Gurjunder in the squad the Highlanders have definitely strengthen their side for the next season.
