Xtra Time Web Desk : ATK Mohun Bagan sealed a 3-0 win over their arch rivals SC East Bengal in the much awaited Kolkata derby in Indian Super League (ISL 2021-22) on Saturday at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco. Roy Krishna, Manvir Singh and Liston Colaco were the scorers for ATK Mohun Bagan.

The game began well for SC East Bengal, with the Red-and-Gold brigade dominating position in the opening few minutes. However, ATK Mohun Bagan soon found their rhythm when Pritam Kotal’s cross landed at Roy Krishna’s feet inside the penalty area. The Fiji striker seized the opportunity, placing the shot out of goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya’s reach.

Two minutes later, Joni Kauko’s defence-splitting through ball found the run of Manvir Singh, who punched it hard into the top corner of the goal to double ATKMB’s lead.

Liston Colaco got into the scoresheet for the second successive match when he capitalised on a loose ball and slotted it into an empty net.

Injuries of key players such as Arindam Bhattacharya, who had to come off in the first half, and Raju Gaikwad, didn’t help SC East Bengal’s cause either.

Substitute goalkeeper Suvam Sen impressed under the bar since coming on, denying the ATKMB attacking line-up several times. Adil Khan looked sharp as well.

With the win, ATKMB move to the top of the ISL, with six points from two matches, while SCEB are placed 10th.
