ISL 2021-22 : ATK Mohun Bagan clinches a last minute 2-2 draw against Kerala Blasters

Xtra Time Web Desk : ATK Mohun Bagan’s match on Saturday against Kerala Blasters ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw where Jony Kauko scored a goal in the dying moments of the match to snatch a point off this fixture.

The game was a thrilling one from the start itself, with end to end football by both the teams. It was the man in form Luna who scored the first goal of the match on the 7 minute mark to put the Blasters ahead in the high voltage clash.

But their lead didn’t last long as the Mariners equalised within a minute of conceding through their star striker David Williams. The pacy first half however didn’t have any more goals with entertaining football and many more chances being created by both the teams.

The second half started just where the first half ended, with the Green and Maroon keeping possession of the ball and Kerala hitting them back with counter attacks. However, just after the hour mark, specifically on the 64th minute, A. Luna scored his second goal of the night to take his team into the ascendancy.

The Mariners although after conceding their second goal of the match, came all guns blazing in order to equalise and created lots of chances only to miss them. In the process of equalising, star ATK Mohun Bagan defender, Prabir Das was sent off during the time added on by the referee.

But the red card didn’t stop the Green and Maroon from scoring a late equaliser as star midfielder Joni Kauko scored from a last ditch effort to help his team return with draw in the all important clash.
