Xtra Time Web Desk: In a spectacular display of batting prowess, Riyan Parag scored the highest individual score by a Rajasthan Royals batting at number four position during the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on 28.03.2024, Thursday. Stellar bowling performances from Yuzvendra Chahal and Nandre Burger, propelled Rajasthan Royals to a 12-run victory over Delhi Capitals.
DC captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and asked the opposition to bat first. Batting first, RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (5) and Jos Butler (11) lost their wickets very cheaply, captain Sanju Samson (15) could not score either. Ravichandran Ashwin was promoted up the order and surprisingly he did not disappoint. He hit three huge is his small innings of 29 off 19. Then came the Riyan show. He scored unbeaten 84. David Warner led DC’s batting with 49 runs was supported by Tristan Stubbs’ 43, but it too late then. RR persisted in taking crucial wickets, maintaining control throughout. Ultimately, they limited DC to 173/5, securing the win.
This match became another nailbiter when DC scored 19 runs in 17th over and 15 runs in the 19th over, suddenly the table seemed to turn towards DC. Now Avesh Khan had the crucial job of defending 16 in the last over. Avesh only gave away 4 runs and helped his team to seal the win.
