IPL 2024: Ravindra Jadeja-Shivam Dube duo takes Chennai home again, find out how

Xtra Time Web Desk: Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja played an unbeaten partnership of 66 runs of 37 balls. They took the defending champions Chennai Super Kings home with 6 wickets to spare, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2024 opener at the Chepauk stadium.

“Me and Jadeja are still not out from 2023. Finishing the game for Chennai is always something else for me. That is what I have learnt from Mahi bhai and that is what I am trying to do every game. That feels really good when you finish a game like this, especially in the first game of the IPL season, so it feels good. I had only one thing in my mind – Watch the ball and play. Because I know what I can do if I am there till the end,” Dube said in an interaction with Rachin Ravindra after CSK’s win in Chennai.

It was the same left-handed pair that finished things off in style in Csk’s famous fifth title triumph in the 2023 edition. In that particular final in Ahmedabad against the Gujarat Titans, Dube scored 32 runs off 21 deliveries while Jedeja scored 15 off 6 and was responsible for the final flourish against Mohit Sharma to complete the rain-curtailed encounter. The love story continues since the 2023 edition final.

Jadeja came to bat as CSK were going through a rough phase as Dube was struggling with short deliveries by the RCB bowlers. Jadeja’s arrival helped Dube calm down a bit and play freely as the duo put on 66 runs in 37 deliveries to make their team victorious. RCB had posted 173 for 6 in their 20 overs with Mustafizur Rahman picking up 4 wickets. However, it wasn’t enough in the end, as their dreadful run at the Chepauk continued.
