Xtra Time Web Desk: Day 3 of IPL is a doubleheader clash and the first match was between Rajasthan Royals & Lucknow Super Giants in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals defeats KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants by 20 runs. Winning the toss RR batted first, batting first RR put up a good total of 193 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Both the RR openers Jos Butler (11) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) got out cheaply inside the first powerplay. Captain Samson came into rescue. Samson and Riyan Parag together put up a strong 96 run partnership. Afghan star Naveen-ul-Haq does it for his team, gets Riyan and breaks the partnership. Samson remains unbeaten at 82 from 52 deliveries. LSG couldn’t do much about Samson’s firework.

LSG batters Nicholas Pooran (64) and KL Rahul’s (58) fifties went in vain as Rajasthan Royals bowlers held their nerves in death overs to seal a 20-run win over LSG. It was a clinical performance from Sandeep Sharma and Avesh Khan in the death overs to stop Rahul and Pooran. Rajasthan Royals kept taking wickets at regular intervals to unsettle the LSG batters in this big chase. Trent Boult claimed a couple of early wickets to break LSG in the 194-run chase.
