Xtra Time Web Desk: Mayank Yadav, the emerging pace sensation from India, has gracefully sidestepped talks about his potential inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad, emphasizing his complete dedication to performing for Lucknow in the IPL 2024 season. Mayank's exceptional performances in the IPL have caught the attention of fans and experts alike, with many heralding him as a future star for the Indian team.

"I don't have comments about that (people saying about T20 World Cup chances). But, my performances have been good. So I am very happy. I want to focus on the present and keep thinking about this IPL season," Mayank said.

In just two matches, Mayank has already left an indelible mark by winning consecutive Player of the Match awards and setting a new record for the fastest ball of the season. His impactful bowling has been instrumental in securing victories for Lucknow, further fueling speculation about his national team prospects.

Mayank was instrumental in helping LSG beat Punjab. He bowled 155.8 kph to set the speed gun on fire and a new record for the fastest ball of the season. In his very next match, Mayank sent shivers down the spine of RCB batters, taking 3 wickets and inspiring Lucknow to a memorable win.

Mayank Yadav broke his own record for the fastest ball of IPL 2024, bowling 156.7 kph in Bengaluru, forcing the partisan RCB fans to root and cheer for him at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

"It is a natural ability. From a very young age, I have been able to bowl pace. I have been able to groom that skill. I have been fortunate to have good people around me, telling what I need to improve and where I lack at various stages of my journey. I have listened to them and been able to improve my game," he said.

Despite consistently clocking high speeds and setting records, Mayank maintains that his primary objective is not to chase speed but to bowl with precision and execute team strategies effectively. He stresses the importance of bowling good lines and lengths to unsettle opposition batters, prioritizing teamwork over personal accolades.

Mayank also added, “At that time, I don't have this adrenaline rush. I don't think about bowling faster. I don't bowl to check the pace in the speedometer. My focus is bowling good lines and lengths and making it difficult for the batters. And I want to make sure that I execute the plans that we sit and make as a team before the team.” Mayank's humility and determination reflect a maturity beyond his years, suggesting that he is well-equipped to handle the pressures and expectations of professional cricket. As he continues to shine in the IPL and refine his skills, the prospect of representing India on the international stage seems increasingly likely. However, for now, Mayank remains committed to making meaningful contributions to Lucknow's success in the IPL.
