IPL 2024: Gujarat Titans beats Mumbai Indians by 6 runs; Hardik Pandya gets booed
Xtra Time Web Desk: Gujarat Titans edge past Mumbai Indians in a thriller match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 24 March. The Gujarat fans gave a bitter welcome to their former captain Hardik Pandya, booed him during the toss.
Winning the toss Mumbai bowled first and restricted Gujarat to 168 runs. Although Gujarat batters started well, wickets kept on falling at regular intervals. Sai Sudarshan played a crucial role, scored 45 off 39 deliveries. Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla had good day with ball and restricted the opposition to 168 runs only.

Mumbai is known to lose their every opening match of every season, today was no different. Batters had good start but could not convert those into big runs. Wickets fell one after the other in the death overs. Could only manage to score 162 runs with only one wicket in hand. Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Spencer Johnson all took two wickets.

Fans booed Pandya during the toss to show their displeasure regarding his decision of leaving GT. He was again booed while he made diving stop in the final delivery of the sixth over to stop a boundary.
He explained during the toss ‘Feels good to be back. My birthplace is Gujarat, a lot of success came in Gujarat, very grateful to the crowd and this state. My cricketing birth happened in Mumbai, so really good to be back. It's been almost two weeks; we started the camp’.
