Xtra Time Web Desk: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was seen batting with a huge strapping on his left knee during the team’s training session at the Chepauk ahead of IPL 2023 Playoffs against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. The talisman was the last to arrive for training when the conditions became a bit cooler in the evening.

Dhoni was seen walking with a strapping on his left knee. The CSK captain was involved in a long discussion with BCCI CEO Hemang Amin and CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan. After spending a few minutes, the talisman was seen practice hitting sixes with a tennis ball. It went on for almost 30 minutes before he took a bit of rest. Mahi was seen watching the batting of Moeen Ali when he was joined by CSK Head Coach Stephen Fleming.

Despite the injury to his left knee, Dhoni will play in the all-important Playoffs tie against GT on Tuesday.

It will be quite an emotional moment when MS Dhoni leads his troop for the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 against defending champions Gujarat Titans at the Chepauk. It is anticipated Chepauk will witness another sea of yellow as has been the case for CSK matches this IPL season. Meanwhile the demand for tickets is sky-high here in Chennai.

The four-time IPL champions have been terrific this season after the dismal show last season where they ended up ninth. This is the record 12th time in the history of IPL that CSK have finished among the top-four of the standings. Only two times in the history of IPL, CSK has failed to qualify for the Playoffs.
