IPL 2023 mini auction likely to be held in Bengaluru on December 16

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to stage the mini-auction of IPL 2023 at Bengaluru on December 16. The final decision will be taken in the IPL Governing Council Meeting which will take place after the BCCI AGM on October 18.

Bengaluru had hosted the IPL 2022 mega-auction in February earlier this year and in December, the garden city will once again stage the IPL 2023 mini auction. The IPL Governing Council meeting will be chaired by Arun Dhumal who will replace Brijesh Patel.

As per reports, there will be an increase in the purse of IPL franchises and they can spend up to Rs 95 crore. Since it’s a mini-auction, the franchises aren’t expected to spend the whole amount during the event. The IPL franchises will release the list of retained players by the end of next month.

The next season of the IPL will be back to its old format i.e., home and away matches. The matches will be played across different centers in the country and the teams will play half of their matches at their home and the rest of the fixtures away.
