IPL 2023 Mini Auction: Cameron Green, Ben Stokes, Sam Curran likely to draw the biggest bids at Kochi

Xtra Time Web Desk: All eyes will be on Australian all rounder Cameron Green as he is likely to be one of the most expensive buys in IPL 2023 mini auction to be held in Kochi on Friday, December 23, 2022.

Green will be entering the auction for the first-time in his career. Apart from Green, England all-rounders Ben Stokes and Sam Curran too are expected to draw heavy pay-cheque in the auction.

In the mock auction held on Thursday, both Stokes and Curran finished as the second and third costliest buys with Green being the most expensive.

Former India cricketer Suresh Raina representing Chennai Super Kings picked Curran for 19.50 crores, while Stokes went for 19 crores to Punjab Kings, represented by world cup winning former England captain Eoin Morgan. West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith was picked for 8.5 crores by Mumbai Indians. Smith’s compatriot Nicholas Pooran was brought by 8.5 crores by Lucknow Super Giants were the next costliest buys.

Meanwhile, there were no takers for former BlackCaps captain Kane Williamson in the mock auction. Williamson led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last edition of the IPL. He was released by the franchise ahead of this year’s auction. Unlike last time, IPL Auction in Kochi is a mini-auction and will last only a day.
