Xtra Time Web Desk: Delhi Capitals emerged victorious in a thrilling IPL 2023 encounter against SunRisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday. The match saw an impressive display from the Delhi bowlers, who defended a meagre total of 145 runs against the Hyderabad batting line-up. Mukesh Kumar, who came in as an Impact Player defended 13 runs in the final over to give DC a 7-run victory. Axar Patel scored crucial 34 runs and picked two wickets.

Despite picking up quick wickets between the 12th and 15th over, Delhi faced a stiff challenge from Heinrich Klaasen and Washington Sundar, who added 41 runs from 26 balls in the final four overs of the match. However, Mukesh Kumar managed to defend 13 runs in the last over, without conceding a single boundary.

SunRisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram expressed disappointment at the team's lack of intent, stating that they were far off from playing their usual brand of cricket. In the first innings, Delhi Capitals struggled to cope with Bhuvneshwar Kumar's opening spell, losing wickets early on. They further compounded their troubles by losing three wickets to Washington Sundar in the 8th over of the game.

However, Axar Patel once again proved to be the saviour for the team, scoring 34 runs from 34 balls and stretching Delhi's score to 144 runs. This proved crucial, as they defended their lowest total in the history of the Indian Premier League at Hyderabad. Despite their struggles with the bat, Delhi's bowlers rose to the occasion and secured a hard-fought victory.
