IPL 2023: KL Rahul’s further participation in league to depend on BCCI medical team

Xtra Time Web Desk: Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul’s availability for the remaining matches in ongoing IPL 2023 looks in serious doubts. According to a report in Cricbuzz, Rahul’s further participation in the league this season will depend on the decision taken by BCCI medical team of the National Cricket Academy. Rahul suffered a hamstring injury while trying to save a boundary in the game against RCB at Lucknow on Monday.

Krunal Pandya will lead Lucknow Super Giants in Wednesday’s IPL 2023 fixture against Chennai Super Kings. The reason BCCI medical staff will take over Rahul’s case is he is a contracted player and also a key member of the Indian test squad for the upcoming World Test Championship Final against Australia to be played at the Oval, starting from June 7.

It is learnt LSG management are okay with BCCI medical staff taking over Rahul’s injury management. The medical staffs of BCCI will assess is scan report which will give a clear picture about the extent of injury. If there is a tear, he will certainly miss a considerable number of matches.
