IPL 2023: Huge setback for LSG as KL Rahul suffers hamstring injury; Jaydev Unadkat too gets injured in bizarre fashion

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a huge setback for IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants, captain KL Rahul and left arm pacer got injured. While Rahul pulled up a hamstring injury, Unadkat stumbled after releasing the ball during practice at the nets. His left foot got trapped in the rope and he fell on his shoulder and injured himself.

Both Rahul and Unadkat are in the India squad for the World Test Championship final against Australia starting June 7. It remains to be seen how the respective injuries heal and how fast.

Rahul was chasing a ball hit by Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Faf du Plessis from going to the boundary. Just short of the boundary, he went down holding his hamstring. A stretcher was called for, but sent back as Rahul limped back off the ground.

The way KL Rahul stopped and hobbled; it looks like he has done something serious to his quad. If it is anything above a Grade 1 strain, then he might be out of World Test Championship Final.
