Xtra Time Web Desk: Delhi Capitals’ fast bowler Anrich Nortje will not be available for Saturday’s IPL 2023 game against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Nortje had returned home due to a personal emergency on Friday night. It is not clear if the Proteas fast bowler will return to India for the remaining matches in IPL 2023.
Nortje had missed the first two games of the tournament because of his national commitments. However, in the eight matches he has played, he has taken seven wickets and has been a key player for the Capitals.
“Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night. He will be unavailable for this evening’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore,” said Delhi Capitals in an official media release.
In the absence of Nortje, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and veteran speedster Ishant Sharma will be tasked with additional responsibilities when the Capitals take on the RCB in their home ground.
