Xtra Time Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is all set to retain Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell ahead of the IPL mega auction. As per reports there is a four-way fight for the remaining two slots for capped Indian players. The four players in discussion are Devdutt Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel and Mohammed Siraj.

Mohammed Siraj looks to be the frontrunner for one of the Indian players along with Devdutt Padikkal. Although Harshal Patel is also in the reckoning along with experienced leg spinner Yuzuvendra Chahal.

According to the rules laid down by BCCI, each franchise can retain a maximum of four capped Indian players. Each franchise will have a purse of INR 90 crore to spend at the IPL mega auction. The amount spent on retaining the players will be deducted from the purse.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will also need to announce the name of new captain since Virat Kohli has decided to step down. Kohli has been leading RCB since 2013. Kohli made his intentions clear that he would like to be part of RCB despite stepping down from captaincy.

The BCCI has asked the existing teams to retain the players latest by November 30, whereas the new teams have a window to pick a maximum of three non-retained players from December 1 to 25.
