Xtra Time Web Desk : Current England pacer Mark Wood, who was picked up by the debutant franchise Lucknow Super Giants in this year's Indian Premier League Mega Auction for a whopping amount of INR 7.50 Crore has reportedly been ruled out of the upcoming edition of the marquee tournament due to an elbow injury.

The English speedster, who was a part of England's Test squad for the West Indies tour, suffered an elbow injury while playing the first Test. The former Chennai Super Kings bowler could only bowl a total of 5 overs before going out of the field due to discomfort and pain.

And since then, reportedly the England Cricket Board has been in constant touch with the Lucknow Super Giants which then encapsulated into informing the franchise that Wood wouldn't be available for the IPL this season.

Now, with Wood being ruled out of the marquee tournament, it would be intriguing to see how the KL Rahul led franchise copes up with such a huge hit right before the start of the IPL.
