Xtra Time Web Desk : Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul on Saturday announced his arrival in this season’s Indian Premier League with a brilliant match winning century against five time champions Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne stadium in what was his 100th IPL match.
The stormy 103* run knock came off just 60 in what was a typical KL Rahul innings ornamented by fours and sixes along with flurry of singles and twos.
The innings which started on a steady note took flight in typical Rahul fashion which helped his team to reach the 199 mark at the end of 20 overs and clinch a 18 run win over their rivals Mumbai Indians.
This was Rahul’s first IPL century this season and his third in the tournament overall. Also, the Lucknow opener has amassed a total of 3508 in the IPL so far in the 100 matches he has played for franchises Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.
