Xtra Time Web Desk : The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League has been entertaining and at the same time, peculiar to say the least.

The biggest season of in the history of the tournament so far has presented us with many a surprising results with a new format altogether.

Ten mega franchises, divided into two groups of five each, this the 2022 edition has seen two of the biggest teams Mumbai Indians and defending champions Chennai Super Kings battling it out at the bottom of the table.

With the debutants franchises in Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans enduring a fantastic start of the season, Faf Du Plessis’ new look Royal Challengers Bangalore alongside Rajasthan Royals too have looked solid in terms of playing.

While Punjab Kings too have looked good with 3 wins out of 5 games, Shreyas Iyer's Kolkata Knight Riders have been inconsistent at times winning 3 out of the 6 games.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have too looked like a resurgent side, winning 3 matches on trot after losing out the first two.

In terms of individual stats, Rajasthan’s Jos Buttler looks set to battle it out for the Orange cap this season with Hardik Pandya, although the Englishman is currently way ahead of his Indian compatriot.

In terms of bowling stats, in form Yuzvendra Chahal currently leads the race for the Purple Cap and is all set to battle it out with Capitals' Kuldeep Yadav and Lucknow’s Avesh Khan.
