Xtra Time Web Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Rajat Patidar played a career defining knock of 112 off 54 balls in the IPL 2022 Eliminator 1 against RCB at Eden Gardens on Wednesday night.  Patidar played some outrageously attacking strokes to help RCB post a daunting total of 207/4 after the failure of the big 3, Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell.

Patidar came in to bat with his team in spot after losing its captain in the very first over. He decided to break the shackles in the fifth over as he launched into Krunal Pandya, hitting the left-arm spinner for three fours and a six to bring up his team’s 50.

Patidar decided to cut loose as he took 27 runs off the 16th over bowled by Ravi Bishnoi. He hit three sixes and two fours in the over. The wily Ravi Bishnoi would have had his wicket, but Deepak Hooda dropped a relatively easy catch at the boundary on the third delivery of the over, which allowed Patidar to continue his rampage.

He was dropped again in the 18th over, a difficult catch in the third man region and Patidar made the most of it by slamming the next delivery for a massive six to reach his century in just 49 balls.

It was also his first century in T20 cricket. He finished with an unbeaten 112 off just 54 deliveries.
