Why was KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya involved in heated argument with umpire? Gautam Gambhir livid in the dugout | Watch video

Xtra Time Web Desk: Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya were involved in a heated argument with on field umpire during the Eliminator 1 against RCB at Eden Gardens on Wednesday night. Both were definitely not happy to see the standing umpire calling a waist high no ball off Chameera which doesn’t look so in replays.

It was the first ball of the 12th over. The standing umpire signalled a no-ball after sighting a waist-high full-toss from LSG speedster Dushmantha Chameera against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in-form batter Rajat Patidar.

Moments later, both Rahul and Krunal, who were fielding close to the playing deck, were seen going up to the standing umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal and arguing as to why he declared it a no-ball when his on-side partner Michael Gough was perhaps better placed to arrive at a decision.

But Madangopal stood firm with his decision and signaled a free hit. What looked like a straightforward decision at the time turned out to be a contentious move by KL Rahul and Krunal, who both indulged in an animated discussion with the umpire and asking why he took the decision without getting a cue from his partner.
